Derrick Watkins is a document examiner and expert witness. He is a skilled authority in handwriting identification and has examined more than 175 cases and viewed more than 350 signatures. He has testified in court as and handwriting expert in the state of New Jersey and New York. He has been consulted on cases nation wide.

Mr. Watkins has worked on cases, lectured, and taught handwriting related classes at the International Handwriting Analysis Conference: an annual event featuring handwriting experts from around the world.
Derrick Watkins's library contains a variety of books and reports that include literature on questioned documents, forensic handwriting analysis, and psychology.           

Mr. Watkins examination lab includes a Macintosh G 5 I Mac, a high resolutions HP scanner, a Macintosh Mac book Pro computer, a Light table, a protractor, metric measuring devices, and a Sony digital camera. Mr. Watkins's has access to a One American Optical 7x to 30 twin microscope, an Illuminated Stereo Microscope ST Series (10x lens), a digital overhead projector; transparencies and numerous magnifying devices.
 

Mr. Watkins has a B.A. from New Jersey City University and a M.S.W. from Rutgers University. He is an Expert Handwriting Instructor for Handwriting Services International, a network of court qualified document examiners working together throughout the USA and Canada. Derrick teaches classes for the School of Forensic Document Examination. This distance learning program is the world's only non- government 2 year forensic document training program. He is also certified by American Institute of Applied Science (AIAS)

Derrick Watkins's education and training in Handwriting & document examination include:
A 2-year apprenticeship with Bart Baggett, a leading authority in the field of handwriting analysis and document examination.  Mr. Baggett is a co-author of the "The Handwriting Certification Home Study Course," Handwriting Analysis 101, and host and lectures at the International Handwriting Analysis Conference, and annual event featuring handwriting experts from around the world. Mr. Baggett is a consultant and quest expert for Larry King Live, Fox News Network, and Court TV's Catherine Crier Show and Banfield and Combs. Mr. Baggett has also been a featured "handwriting expert" on over 1500 radio and TV shows including CNN with Paula Zahn, CNBC ''s Powerlunch. Mr. Baggett is also co-founder and President of the International School of Forensic Document Examination. He has testified in as a handwriting expert in Texas and California and has examined over 300 cases.
